It allows you for free to text overseas so, as my daughter currently works abroad in Colombia, this is a way we keep in touch. Aside from that, sending photos when she's trying on something to buy and so on is also great. Come on into the 21st Century!Andrea Downinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11553961600937196102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7883309291937926612.post-77808574875679563242015-02-09T18:37:32.880-08:002015-02-09T18:37:32.880-08:00First of all, the driving in your excerpt sounds a...First of all, the driving in your excerpt sounds a lot like me driving a manual transmission. And secondly, I have to admit that like Alison I don't text. I too have a flip phone, and I hate trying to text with it. Some day, when I have a smart phone, I'll join the 21st century and text. Of course, by then everyone will have moved on to something else!

Good luck with Dances of the Heart, Andrea!Jana Richardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16624650840243322617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7883309291937926612.post-7660774898915561552015-02-09T14:26:09.202-08:002015-02-09T14:26:09.202-08:00My daughter and I Skype every evening but we still...My daughter and I Skype every evening but we still text occasionally throughout the day, just to quickly check in. I find it's most useful when one can't speak, like being in a public place or at work. I think the younger generation likes to multi-task, so they may be out with friends while texting other friends.. At least that's what seems to happen!Andrea Downinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11553961600937196102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7883309291937926612.post-15561964385838530712015-02-09T13:27:52.654-08:002015-02-09T13:27:52.654-08:00I have to admit I'm a dinosaur (and habitual n...I have to admit I'm a dinosaur (and habitual non-texter). I texted a couple of times at RWA nationals a few years ago to make arrangements to meet up with friends. The hotel had poor cell reception, and we all had our phones off anyway so as not to interrupt the sessions. I have an old flip phone, so texting is a huge pain, but even if I break down and get a smart phone I doubt I'll text much. I enjoy hearing my daughter's voice when she calls me every day.Alison Hendersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12725250883303287946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7883309291937926612.post-91738186821024054862015-02-09T11:06:59.536-08:002015-02-09T11:06:59.536-08:00That sounds like parr for the course, Jannine. When I call them, they don't most of the time. Somehow texting Mom is better than actually talking to Mom! LOLJannine Gallanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01047728297429025804noreply@blogger.com
