New Author Head Shots

I don't much enjoy having my picture taken. My eyes always look squinty. My smile is uneven. My neck is as wrinkled as an old paper bag. Those are my excuses, anyway. It couldn't possibly be because I don't look twenty-five anymore. At any rate, I hadn't had a new author photo taken in seven years and was long overdue. Cute new red glasses and an upcoming blog tour for my new book Small Town Christmas Tales also served as motivation. And it didn't hurt that my hair stylist is an amateur photographer who offered to take the photos for free.

Yesterday afternoon, Heidi brought her camera over and click, click, click! We had lots of fun, and I now have several great head shots to choose from. I'm having a hard time picking a favorite, so I thought I'd ask your advice. Which of these would you choose?

    Nice pics! #1 is my favorite and #6 is my 2nd choice. She did a great job.

    #1 is my fav. However, I'd use #4 for a serious book.

    I like 1 & 4. I like the way your head is tilted in #4, it looks relaxed

    It sounds like everyone has the same preference for smiles. I might work on the lighting a bit in those two and see what I think. Thanks!

    I like your smile in #1 best, but wish it was more of a close up. #6 would be my second choice.

      I had the same thought, Patricia, so I cropped #1 to make it more of a close up. It is better.

      Late to the disucssion, as always. But I also love Nos. 1 and 6. They're all lovely though. Great shots. Your stylist did a fantastic job...on your hair, too! :-)

    Thanks, Leah. I did my own hair, but she's responsible for the cut and color. OG noted that it was looking a little more silver than blond. Husbands are so kind. Grrr.

    I like the faded, but interesting background in #5...overall the color/clarity is the best. My second choice is #6. Seriously, you look great in them all, but I like close-up head shots best.
